One-Component Polyurea Concrete Joint Sealant

BW6-189

One-component moisture-curing polyurea joint pouring material for concrete expansion joints, deformation joints, settlement joints and waterproof sealing details. It provides flexible sealing, dense filling and strong adhesion to prepared concrete joint surfaces.

Product Description

BW6-189 one-component polyurea sealant is a moisture-curing polymer product based on a novel silane-terminated polyether resin. It reacts with moisture in the atmosphere to form a rubbery elastomer, delivering reliable potting and sealing performance. With high solid content, non-foaming characteristics, excellent adhesion and hydrophilic reactivity, this product provides superior sealing performance compared with conventional similar products. Featuring low modulus and high elasticity, it effectively addresses leakage issues occurring in structural joints including deformation joints, expansion joints and connection joints.

BW6-189 helps applicators build a dense, elastic seal inside prepared concrete joints. It is suitable when a project needs a one-component material for joint filling, waterproof sealing and movement accommodation.

400%ElongationHelps the cured sealant accommodate deformation in prepared expansion, deformation and settlement joints.
1.0 MPa300% Tensile ModulusSupports movement-accommodation review for the cured sealant under the listed GB/T 528-2009 test method.
98 +/- 2%Solids ContentSupports a dense sealant body for waterproof joint filling without relying on high solvent evaporation.
30 minSurface Dry TimeHelps plan joint sealing sequence, protection time and follow-up work under the listed 25°C condition.

Product Features and Advantages

BW6-189 focuses on flexible joint sealing, helping form a dense, rubber-like filling body inside prepared concrete joints where movement accommodation, waterproof sealing and concrete-side adhesion are important.

Joint Sealing Performance

  • Moisture-Curing ElastomerReacts with moisture and forms a rubber-like elastomer for joint waterproof sealing.
  • Dense Waterproof SealThe cured sealant forms a dense internal structure that helps block water paths in prepared joints.
  • No Foaming During CureThe technical sheet states that the material does not produce bubbles during moisture curing.
  • Temperature-Tolerant CureThe technical sheet lists curing at both high and low temperatures, with separate low-temperature handling guidance.

Application and Handling

  • One-Component MaterialNo A/B component proportioning is listed, supporting simpler field handling for compatible joint details.
  • Scraper, Pouring or ExtrusionThe guide lists hand scraper, pouring and triangular-bag extrusion for suitable joint geometry.
  • Water-Curing ReferenceThe technical sheet lists water-curing capability; project conditions and substrate suitability still need review.
  • Thick Joint PlanningFor thicker application, the document recommends two layers with each application interval in 6-30 hours.
